Naden Harbour salmon fishing

Naden Harbour sits in DFO Pacific Area 1 on the North Coast coast. This page covers when salmon run here and the recreational salmon limits and closures in effect. For live wind, waves, tides and an hourly fishing score, see the Naden Harbour forecast.

When salmon run at Naden Harbour

The north end of Haida Gwaii sees large chinook move past from late spring through summer, with coho following later in the season. Halibut are taken on the surrounding banks. As at Langara nearby, the fishery is driven by migrating fish passing close to the islands rather than by resident stocks.

Salmon limits for Area 1 (as of September 16, 2026)

chinook 2 per day; chum 4 per day; coho 4 per day; pink 4 per day; sockeye 4 per day.

No salmon closure areas are in effect in Area 1 today, but a closure can be posted at any time.

See the full Area 1 regulations for the complete limits tables and subarea boundaries. Openings change in-season - always confirm on DFO before fishing.
